And what about Sunday?

I felt like poop this morning.. Stuffy nose, hard to breath, was awake till 2:30 in the morning and had a few beers while cooking and with the people we had over.. When the alarm went off this morning I wanted to stay in bed so bad but I managed to drag myself out of bed to join my Sunday group ride and I think they are my friends.. Or at least there is a friendship.. Well it was a good day as I pedaled I felt better..
It looked like this when we started..
The guy in green was his first road group ride.. He is a mtbiker so has plenty of stamina..
We were heading over that bump ahead..
The view as we climbed the first part…
This other guy got the visit of the man with the hammer… He was beat..!
After the long climb we stopped to fill the water bottles at Carratraca’s water fountain, it comes straight from the mountains.

And after a long downhill and some assistance to the guy that blew up… My well earned reward..
After that stop for beer and some chips with jamon serrano I headed for another few km since no one was home and I forgot my keys… At the end of the day my ride looked like THIS
I am starting to offer these kind of experience to anyone coming to Málaga.. If you would like to join me for one of my rides feel free to contact.. Comments will be the first step and we take it from there..
Hope you like this report and see you next time..

Welcome to Southern Spain..!

It was so hot that we had to change out original plans… (150 km and 3000 meters) for something a bit more modest… 120 km and 2000 meters
The average temperature for the ride? 35 C..!!! AVERAGE!! The max hit 46 according to Garmin..!! Yep it was that hot..
As per usual the routes were great..! This one is from the first climb a cat 2 of 15 km … To el Puerto de las Abejas..
The start of the second cat 2 of the day… This climb was like 9 km long of great twisting roads that went up and down.
Jose trying to catch up with me after I attacked a bump..
And he passed me..
My 3 companions for the day.. I might actually frame this one..
Wind mills to create a postcard view..
Time for the reward… I had two of those before heading home..

Some tapas (small food or snacks) chips… not very salty and jamon crudo
Oh and look..!!! It was new kit day.. (finally I got mine..!!!)
Looking forward to have you over here...If you want to contact us use this blog or you can reach me/us at our Facebook page

Discovering the HC climb

What did I had in my mind? No idea..!! But sure it didn’t look like this..!!

This was my third day of climbing.. It was a while since I had 3 days in a route of riding much less of this much climbing.. It was a painful day where I had plenty of shot of my friends behinds…

At the start of the climb things looked like this… And they didn’t change much more for the next 14 km… 6% average gradients..

We even passed 2 tunnels… This one was scary..! Couldn’t see poop in there..!

I am not sure when but this climb was part of the Vuelta?? Maybe 2015?? No clue.. Kill my ignorance.. And Go Purito..!!!

As I got to the top… Antonio and Juan Diego were eating.. Texting and ready to come down… I was like 5 minutes slower then them..

No matter what my time said of me… I was in a good spirit..!! Dead but in a good mood..!

The view of Málaga and the mediterranean sea from the top of this mountain… Is great to get to the top on your own... It gives extra value to it..

And once we made it back home… Refreshments were on..!!

Great day..!! I am done..! So when are you booking your trip to Coín..?

Puerto de las Abejas trip... I wanted to do more....BUT...!!!

So I decided to go out and catch up with a fast group and see what tired legs are made out of…. Lucky me I could not find them so I headed out on my own to see what I could do… During the first hour I was feeling great..! Man I think I am going to beat some times today… I was going mostly downhill and flats till the first climb started…
The first pat of the climb? I was good.. No more great… Started to feel the weight of the legs and the bad knee was saying hello… I had some company..
This is after the first 4 or 5 km of climbing… After that it was a dead march to the top.. It was 10 more km to go… Not a cow picture.. Zoology is not my strength
When I see this sign I know is about 5 km to the top of the climb.. Welcome to Yunquera..!
And they want to remind me of how bad I climb.. With a sign that says Mountain Roads…!!! I see them buddy..! I feel them..!

But I finally I made it to the top.. Oh look..! I got my Podium Jersey fixed..!! Zipper needed to be changed in 3 of my jerseys..

Then I took picture of random riders coming to the top..

As I started talking to them one of them made a comment.. About "mate" my national tea remember? so it happened that he was married to a woman from Paraguay… My mom is from Paraguay..!!! And his wife is even from the same city that my mom is originally from..! How small is the world??

When I turned around this views were waiting for me..

Another angle?? Couldn’t make up my mind so I post them both

So on and off I rode 71 km, climbed 1375 meters in about 3:30 hours.. The other thing that is very interesting? As I was riding I saw two guys I recognized.. Started to get Hola Pablo as I am riding..! Started to be recognized in the local cycling community..!

Another thing that I would like to share with you all and invite you to join if you wish to do so is The Weekend Report Club in +Strava  on that way you can become part of an amazing community from people from all over the world...

Returning to Tolox

Katja is traveling to the US to bring Savannah and I am staying home with Felix and the puppies… (so if you want to send me something from the US now is the time..!) So I headed out today to see what I could do…
After all I had this playground…
Was my first ride since last Sunday and my legs were not happy for the first 2 hours of the ride.. Here is us entering the town of Tolox..
Is not a very long climb itself… 3.2 km and has some shade..

The gradients? Well…. 13% on the bents… If I remember it right

Remember my legs were not happy? So I told Jose to go..
I still had a way to go…

Jose while I was cresting looking at me like… What is wrong with you..?? (no strength today)

And this is how we got to the top.. Same way to go down..
The strava link for the ones that care.. Nothing impressive there.. This little loop put me at 3299 km and 50.000 meters..
Thanks for reading and really hope you like it..
See you next time

Looking for the climbing legs..

I had a quiet weekend when it comes to riding.. I did not ride much.. All I did was was this ride where I was curious to see how fast I could do it and what kind of power I could produce while at it..

So FTP territory right? But please tell me... FTP means??  I came up with my own definition.. F*ck That Pablo..!! But what did I actually did??

I headed out on Saturday without much of a clue on what I wanted to do.. Then I run into a guy I know that was doing this loop I know where I can push a bit since is rolling terrain for a bit over the first half... Here is where I wanted to test my legs and power... The result??? 240W... Not a big number... But a number to work with from now on.. The ride? Strava says.... This are rolling terrains..

Today?? I went looking for my climbing legs...

My playground for the day looked like this..

And I was riding with this guy...

And we did this ride... not bad for a Tuesday... If you are too lazy to click on the link it says 52 km and over 1000 meters of climbing in two hours...

So That was it for today... See you next time..Thanks for reading and sharing..

CXing around...

Story short? My CX bike is finally here!! Actually been here for a few weeks already but I couldn't get to go out and play with it.. That said.... Today I did it..!!!!

Visit a sanctuary that is not very far from home... And is at the top of a hill..

At the top of the hill there is like a whole ghost tow... this comes alive for a week a year when everyone goes up there to visit the virgin..

At the church... I am not a big believer but I said thanks for what I got and asked for a job that fits me.. (if you are going to ask ask right..Right?)

A fancy view of a cobbled stairs... They were rough to ride...

That was the first part of my ride... I got to the Ermita" via the paved road... I knew there was another way up so I started looking for it on my way back...

Guess what? Found it..!! And also the first dismount and picture shooting opportunity.. Back wheel kept sliding.. And I played it safe. Can you see the bike??

Found a little cobbled bridge that made for nice pictures before the climb started..

The CrossRip is great for this rough cobbles..! Thanks +Trek Bicycle

Almost at the top I stopped to breath and look at my surroundings.. Great ones by the way..

I could see the church again from the other side... A little more climbing..

Last switchback before the top..!!!

Remember the cobbled stairs? Well from the bottom now..

And it was time to head home... Sign says 3.9 km to it... I stayed close by today..!

I still managed to hit another 2 climbs on my way home but nothing worth taking a picture.. By the time I got home +Strava said 18 km and 570 meters done..

Thanks for reading and see you next time..!
